I don’t have leprosy

Etiopia, Addis Ababa. 2013-2018.

Beneficiaries: 106.

We managed to overcome the stigma that isolated the community of impoverished and marginalized lepers in Kore ‘ghetto’. We did so by helping six young women from the ghetto in their long and difficult educational journey. They all obtained a university degree and found employment which made them economically self-sufficient.

Although a state of emergency was declared in Ethiopia in 2016, we succeeded in concluding our project which, conducted in agreement with the Federal Government of Ethiopia, included the enlargement of the only kindergarten in Kore, frequented by 100 children, male and female.
