She is an expert in gender policies and education as well as in training and employment programmes for disadvantaged people. She has worked in emergency and development projects with the Italian Red Cross (CRI), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in Mauritania, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Yemen, South Sudan, Sudan, Mozambique, India, Iran, Italy and Afghanistan, where she has been working since 2002. She previously worked on environmental protection issues in Greece.
