EMERGENCY - HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE

Afghanistan, Kabul. 2022-2023. Beneficiaries: about 2,000 people.

The situation in Afghanistan continues to deteriorate. In January 2023, according to an estimate by the World Food Programme, some 20 million people suffered severe food insecurity and 4 million were severely malnourished, including 3.2 million children under five.

CWE is the emergency programme initiated by NOVE to help female heads of households, their children, and others in highly vulnerable conditions.  

Activities carried out: 

  • assisting 180 families (about 1,250 people in total) by providing each with 153 kg of essential food plus cash contributions;
  • distributing stoves and firewood which has helped more than 700 people survive the freezing winter.
