Caring for Women Emergency (CWE)

Caring for Women Emergency is the emergency programme initiated by NOVE to help the survival of women heads of households, their children and others in a highly vulnerable state.

The situation in Afghanistan continues to deteriorate. In January 2023, according to an estimate by the World Food Programme, some 20 million people suffered severe food insecurity and 4 million were severely malnourished, including 3.2 million children under five.

In all, we assisted 180 families - about 1.50 people in all -  providing each one with 153 kg of essential food as well as a cash contribution. We also distributed stoves and wood which enabled over 700 people to survive the freezing winter.
