Vocational Training, soft skills development and business marketing course

After the Taliban took Afghanistan, most of the women who were working had to stop, thus losing a source of income that guaranteed, or contributed significantly to guaranteeing, their family’s survival. Consequently, the need for female training in areas of work to which women still have access has become very high.

The project Vocational Training, soft skills development and business marketing course has offered specialisation and mentoring in currently permitted female professions, such as hairdressing or beauty therapist, as well as soft skills development and entrepreneurship courses, aimed at starting small income-generating businesses.

Direct beneficiaries were 150 women; indirect beneficiaries were around 900 people, i.e. family members of the trained women.

At the end of the courses, 53% of the women found employment or opened a small self-employed business.
