Vocational Training, soft skills development and business marketing course

Afghanistan, Kabul. 2022. Direct beneficiaries: 150 women. Indirect beneficiaries: about 900 people (family members of the trained women).

After the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan, most working women had to stop working, thus losing a source of income that ensured, or greatly contributed to ensuring, their family's survival. As a result, the need to train women in work areas still open to them has become a priority.

The project offered:

  • Specialisation and mentoring in currently permitted female professions such as hairdressing or becoming a beautician;
  • Courses for developing soft and entrepreneurship skills aimed at starting small income-generating businesses.

At the end of the courses, 53% of the women found employment or opened a small self-employed business.

A new project aimed at supporting female entrepreneurship is being launched.
